About Ryan. |
Hello neighbor!
I'm Ryan Soller and I'm running for Chanhassen City Council.
It is such a privilege to be a candidate and I am so glad that you are here taking an interest in your local election.
I think it's important for you to know me more personally if I am going to earn your trust and your vote.

Family.
I have been married to Kailey, the love of my life, for eight years. Since moving to Chanhassen we've adopted a rescue pup named Denali, and welcomed our first, baby Delainey Mae, this fall. Kailey and I met when we were in college and we both share a passion for our families and we make a point to spend as much time with them as we can. We had the good fortune of having great parents and a solid upbringing, and we can only hope to raise our kids half as well as our parents raised us. |
Business.
I have worked at Minnesota-based software company, MatrixCare, for eight years in roles within the services, customer success, and sales functions. I currently lead a team of account managers working to help senior care providers adopt technology to solve some of the modern challenges facing eldercare in America. I've been afforded the genuine pleasure of working with the brave people serving on the front-line of the COVID-19 pandemic to safeguard our nation's vulnerable seniors. In this role I've also gotten involved in giving back to our customers by having a presence in their communities and showing compassion to their residents. I've gotten to hand out gifts during Christmas, visit America's heroes on Veteran's Day, and help partner with local providers to give WWII veterans the chance to ride in an open cockpit, single-prop plane. I am proud to be part of a successful business that also truly cares about the people we serve. |
Education.
My father lined up a job for me to work with him in a foundry in high school where I learned the definition of labor. He used this to show me why he wanted me to be the first in my family to graduate college. My Bachelor's degree is from Bethel University where I majored in history and political science. I rounded out my education by being elected to the student senate, and then served as it's Chair. I also competed in speech and debate, and co-founded Bethel's first Model UN team. I took time off from school to work while Kailey pursued her doctorate in Chemistry. Once she had her Ph.D. and started working at Beckman Coulter here in Carver County, I went on to earn my MBA from the University of Minnesota by taking evening classes for three years while working full-time. I emphasized in strategic management, and am now an affiliate of the Carlson School's Medical Industry Leadership Institute. |
What we do for fun
Kailey and I love hiking, camping and exploring the great outdoors. We're working on visiting as many of Minnesota's state parks as we can and we love to travel. Ask us about the best hikes in any state! You'll also typically find us involved with many rec sports teams, namely broomball, for as long as the ice lasts. We're excited to experience the joys of parenthood this fall and anticipate being heavily involved with both community activities for kids and the school district. |
How we're involved
We were blessed to find a great faith community here in Chanhassen at St. Hubert's, where I lector and Kailey and I are both volunteers in the high school youth ministry program. We've been passionate about being strong role models and mentors for younger generations and have loved serving in these roles since high school. I also spent 5 of the last 8 years as a high school speech coach, and I'm interested in getting involved with that again close to home. |
